In my dreams I see you....

What an awful quest!
you know when it biffs you, they say
this nebulous pest -
it's elusive all the way.

She wants a guy who's honest
and when she meets him it's still no
he's simple and giving at his best
but there's no spark to go

He believes in progressive thought
and wants a smart woman
the lady executive he meets does not
like a placid, supportive man

She's a dreamer of dreams
a wooly, romantic head
her knight in shining armor
is a dirty frog instead

He's a nerd who hopes to meet
Ms right at work sometime
but when she arrives he is steeped
in a complex code line.

She wants a strong, silent type
to lean on for comfort
He's huge and quiet but shies
away coz she's too smart and pert 

He is a brilliant intellectual
and loves a frilly skirt
She talks at length of her broken nail
and drives his mind inert
 
Mr Nice guy marries a witch
and lives happily too
what really is the glitch
if it's destiny that rules?

Love conquers all they say
all's fair in love and war
use it all to sway
and win your paramour!
